This is a natural ageing process and will be more noticeable on white beadwork than on darker colours.\u003cbr\u003eBlack beaded mezuzahs are far less likely to show any visible colour change over time.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eIs my mezuzah suitable for outdoor use?\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAh, the million-dollar question!\u003cbr\u003eOur beaded mezuzahs are handcrafted using traditional wire beadwork techniques, which means the beadwork is decorative rather than solid or sealed. Because of the nature of the design, rain, moisture, dust, and other elements can make their way through the beadwork and into the mezuzah case.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe real consideration isn't the mezuzah itself, it's the scroll (klaf) inside. Excessive moisture, prolonged direct sunlight, extreme heat, or cold can damage the klaf over time, potentially affecting its kosher status.\u003cbr\u003eFor this reason, we recommend displaying your beaded mezuzah in a sheltered location, protected from rain and direct exposure to the elements. A covered entranceway or indoor doorway is ideal.\u003cbr\u003eWhen in doubt, choose the spot where your mezuzah, and the precious scroll inside it, will have the longest, happiest life.
